Nonprofit Organizations Eligible for the Alberta Critical Worker Benefit

The Critical Worker Benefit program, launched by the Government of Alberta, is a one-time payment of $1,200 to eligible Albertans, including nonprofit sector workers.

The Critical Worker Benefit is available to workers in the public health-care, social services, and education sectors and the private sector. It is available for those who deliver critical basic services to Albertans, or support food and medical supply chains. Eligible workers in the two streams will receive a $1,200 benefit distributed through their employers.

Nonprofit organizations that meet the eligibility requirements will be directly contacted by the Government of Alberta to distribute the benefits to eligible workers. We encourage your organizations to keep an eye out for any communications coming from the government. Only nonprofits that receive provincial government grants and/or contracts are eligible.

A full list of all eligible workers can be found on the Critical Worker Benefit webpage.
