Reflecting Forward

In 2004, the efforts of numerous volunteers and the support of the Alberta nonprofit community contributed to the development of CCVO to fill a void in the sector. Over the past 15 years, with continued community support, CCVO has been committed to giving voice to nonprofits across Alberta and strengthening the sector. This year, we reflected on how the sector has changed since our founding and what the future holds for nonprofits in Alberta.

The CCVO Team

Highlights of Our Work

Nonprofits at Noon networking & speaker series attracted 160 attendees from the nonprofit, government, and corporate sectors.

2018-19 marking the 8th year of CCVO’s Lighting the Way: The State of the Alberta Nonprofit Sector report.

The #nonprofitsvote social media campaign, which was a nonpartisan effort to increase nonprofit voter turnout during the 2019 Alberta provincial election, received 247 mentions and reached over 97,000 social media users.

The CCVO Election Toolkit, a guide to nonprofit advocacy, was downloaded 271 times during Alberta provincial election campaign time. This toolkit served as a guide for Alberta nonprofit organizations to engage in advocacy and to have their voices he…

The 2019 Alberta Provincial Election Vote Kit was accessed by 1464 website visitors during election campaign time. This Vote Kit included resources for nonprofits, their supporters, and people who access their services, to create a vote plan so they…

The 2019 Connections Conference, focused on the theme of organizational adaptivity, attracted 335 attendees. Sector breakdown was as follows: 75% nonprofit 9% corporate, 9% government, and 7% individual.

The 2018 Boland Survey, which provides nonprofit sector compensation and Human Resource practice data, saw 288 respondents, resulting in 5 regional reports released by CCVO.

The Executive Directions Nonprofit Leadership Development programs saw 23 new graduates and overall have a total of 147 alumni!

Reach Hire, Alberta’s nonprofit career source, saw 1,076 jobs posted and 2,220 resumes uploaded.
