2022-23 Annual Report
This past year was another one full of challenges for the nonprofit sector as many struggled to deal with limited resources and higher demand. CCVO’s research, Too Essential to Fail, laid the groundwork for shared advocacy to support policy and investments that create the conditions for all nonprofits to thrive. Leading up to the Provincial election CCVO put forward shared recommendations, brought nonprofit leaders together with government, led and shared campaigns, provided advocacy resources, and hosted party leaders in an effort to ensure Alberta nonprofits are central to how our governments support prosperous communities.
CCVO honours and acknowledges the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit who have lived on and cared for the land that we now know as Alberta for centuries. Namely: the Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), Tsuut'ina, Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, and Métis Regions 1 through 6. We are committed to listening, learning, and doing the work along our journey of reconciliation.
A MESSAGE FROM OUR BOARD CHAIR AND PRESIDENT & CEO
The beginning of the year brought an opportunity for many organizations, including CCVO, to once again gather safely in person. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all those who participated both in person and virtually throughout the year, engaging with our events and communities of practice centered around human resources, evaluation, and communication. It has been a true pleasure to finally meet many of you face-to-face for the first time. We eagerly look forward to continuing to meet and to learn about your priorities and your impact in the work that you do.
