This session will be focused on mental health and “ask me anything” with guest speaker Brandy Payne.
The uncertainty and hardship of the past two years have taken a toll on employees of nonprofit organizations. On top of the mental health challenges faced by many Canadian workers, the cost of living is going up – putting more pressure on employees’ well-being. And like many leaders in the sector, you may be struggling to attract and retain talent and keep them engaged. In the past, employers have seen group retirement plans as a nice-to-have benefit. But the pandemic has changed that.

Let’s get one thing straight off the top. “I need to f*ing talk to you”, is a bad way to start any conversation, let alone one with a co-worker. Unfortunately, too many leaders have started conversations this way. Usually, it’s because some issue has been festering for weeks or months and it has finally reached the point where we can’t stand it anymore. In this webinar, Ken and Russell will discuss why leaders often avoid difficult conversations and watch two actors try to navigate a typical conversation. You’ll have the chance to offer feedback and explore the B.E.E.F. Model as a technique for structuring these conversations.
