Bill 17: The Fair and Family-Friendly Workplaces Act comes into effect on January 1, 2018. The Bill provides the first significant changes to Alberta’s Employment Standards Code in 30 years and aligns the province with the rest of the country. Does your organizations know what the changes are and how they will affect your operations? More importantly, is your organization ready?
Join CCVO for an interactive workshop to learn what the major changes are to the Employment Standards Code, get reliable information, and ask questions. Humyra Sabir, Executive Director Workplace Policy, Legislation & Program Development from Alberta Labour, will provide an overview of the changes. Janet Salopek, President & Senior Specialist and Leah Fochuk, Consulting Services Manager from Salopek & Associates, will talk about some of the grey areas within the new legislation and what workplaces need to be doing to get ready for the changes.
