CCVO is launching the Community Exchange Centre - a new online shared space dedicated to the nonprofit community where you can publish an ad or posting to offer or inquire about sharing space, goods, HR costs and information. CRA Issues Call for Proposals from the Charitable Sector
$3 million in funding is available for proposals aimed at supporting sector education and training projects related to charity compliance. Both charities and non-profits that assist charities are eligible to apply. The deadline for applications is March 27, 2009.
STEP Funding Increased for 2009
The Alberta Government has made a $1.9 million increase to the government's Summer Temporary Employment Program (STEP), which helps organizations hire summer students. Eligible employers include registered charities and nonprofits. Applications must be postmarked on or before March 6, 2009 to be considered.
Summer Work Experience Program - Apply by Friday
The Canada Summer Jobs initiative provides funding for not-for-profit organizations with 50 or fewer employees to hire summer students. Funding applications will be accepted until February 27, 2009.

New Report Examines Impact of Economic Downturn
A recent survey asked fundraising professionals to assess the impact of the economic downturn on the charitable sector. Findings included that 40% of participants expect total contributions to their charities to decrease, 31% expect contributions to remain the same and 26% expect an increase in 2009.
