The Federal Government has called a General Election to be held on October 14. Click here for more information including a National Sector Platform endorsed by CCVO, and resources for charities and nonprofits who are interested in being engaged in the election campaign. |

In response to the Canada Revenue Agency’s (CRA) proposed guidelines for fundraising by charities, CCVO has submitted a letter detailing our concerns about the impact on the sector. The deadline for organizations to provide feedback is August 31. |

The Alberta Goverment releases A Workforce Strategy for Alberta's Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector, a collaborative report which involved over 60 nonprofits, with CCVO in a leadership role. |

Ed Stelmach and the Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta win the 2008 provincial elections. After being sworn in, Stelmach creates several new ministries, including the Culture and Community Spirit portfolio. |

CCVO contacted the leaders of all six political parties running in the March 2008 Alberta Provincial Election. We received responses from the Alberta Liberals, Progressive Conservatives, and the Alberta NDP. |
