CCVO is engaged in an ongoing process to map the cross-cutting issues that affect Calgary’s nonprofits and charities. In this section you will find information about the issues and work that is being done by CCVO and others to address them.

The voluntary sector is diverse, both in terms of the size of organizations, and their areas of work. However, whether organizations are 100% volunteer-driven or have hundreds of staff, work on environmental issues or international development, they are all affected by some shared policy issues.

Policy topics are broken out in two ways:

Broad policy issues include a variety of policies, and pieces of legislation at various levels of government and elsewhere.

Specific pieces of legislation that are currently or soon to be under review or are of concern are listed separately.
