Municipal Budget 2010

According to the National Survey of Nonprofit and Voluntary Organizations (NSNVO) conducted in 2003, over 49% of the total funding for voluntary sector organizations in Canada comes from various levels of government.

  • 40% from provincial governments
  • 7% from the federal government
  • 2% from municipal governments

The City of Calgary currently uses a three-year budget planning cycle with annual adjustments. The current budget runs from 2009-2011.CCVO anticipates that City Council will hold public hearings in November 2010 to prepare for the 2011-2013 budget cycle. As with past budget deliberations, CCVO will be presenting before Council at these hearings.
