Municipal Budget 2010
According to the National Survey of Nonprofit and Voluntary Organizations (NSNVO) conducted in 2003, over 49% of the total funding for voluntary sector organizations in Canada comes from various levels of government. The funding for all organizations breaks down to the following:
- 40% from provincial governments
- 7% from the federal government
- 2% from municipal governments
This funding is the form of grants and contributions. For this reason, budget decisions at all levels are important to the sector and therefore a focus of CCVO's work will be on the City Calgary's 2010 Budget. Watch for additional information as it unfolds.
