What is the CCVO Job Centre?

The CCVO Job Centre is for paid positions in the nonprofit sector. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate RFP’s and volunteer positions at this time.

  • To post a volunteer position, please visit Volunteer Calgary’s website.
  • Positions within government or the private sector will be considered if they work primarily with the nonprofit sector. Please email us at jobs@calgarycvo.org for more information or call 403.261.6655.

How long will my position be live?

All postings are automatically posted for 30 days. If you would like to remove a posting prior to its expiry, please login and go to your Job Listings page; here, you will be able to delete postings from the site.

What is the cost of each posting?

Each job posting is $50 for members and $125 for non-members. Payment is due online (Mastercard and Visa accepted) to post a job.

  • All CCVO members receive one free job posting for the 2010/11 membership year. If you have not yet used your free posting and would like to, please email us at jobs@calgarycvo.org or call 403.261.6655.
  •  If you are a member, please enter ccvojob in the discount code area at the checkout to ensure that you are charged the member rate. Not sure if you are a member? Please check our online member directory. If you are not a CCVO member, please do not use the discount code. The job board is monitored and reviewed regularly and an invoice will be issued if cost corrections are needed.

Can I use my free posting or member discount on behalf of another organization?

No, the free posting and member discount is a benefit extended to members only. Member organizations are not permitted to post on behalf of a non-member organization in order for them to receive a free posting or discounted rate.

What do I need to post a job?

Before you start your job posting process, please make sure that you have the following information:

  • Title of the position
  • Organization
  • Application deadline
  •  A PDF version of the job description
  • The posting organizations Website URL
  • The position level (entry, manager, executive, etc.)
  • The position type (full time, contract, part time, etc.)
  • Location of the position (or head office location) 

When you are posting a job, you will have an opportunity to either enter the position profile into a text box, upload a PDF version of the profile or both. We strongly suggest that you enter the position profile in the text box as this information is used for the keyword search. Having text in here will increase your positions visibility to job seekers.

How do I post a job?

To post jobs on the CCVO Job Centre, you will have to first create an account with calgarycvo.org. On the registration form, make sure you select the "Employer" account type. Please reference our step-by-step instructions on How to Create and Account.

Once you've created an account, go to the Job Centre page and click on Post a Job. For step-by-step instructions on how to post, please take a look at How to Post a Job. 

If you are a CCVO member and have not yet used your free posting (applicable for all CCVO members in good standing; limit one free posting per membership year) please contact us at jobs@calgarycvo.org or 403.261.6655.

When I paste text into the Job Description field, all of the formatting is different. How do I fix this?

Not all formatting is recognized by all programs. An easy way to eliminate this from happening is to first copy+paste your job description text into a plain text program such as Notepad (this is found under Accessories from the Start button in Windows). Then, copy+paste your text from Notepad into the job description field. There may still be minor edits, but these can be completed using the provided formatting tools.

Can I make changes to my posting once it has been saved and gone live?

No; you can’t, but we can. Any changes that need to be made have to be submitted via email to jobs@calgarycvo.org and will be made by one of our Website Administrators. Make sure that you include the posting title, organization name and the account name when submitting a change request. Please allow up to 2 business days for these changes to be completed.

I’ve forgotten my password and/or username; can you help?

Certainly! Just send an email to jobs@calgarycvo.org and provide us with your full name, email address, phone number and organization. Same thing goes if the individual that completed job postings is no longer with your organization and you need to access the account. Please allow us up to 2 business days to retrieve this information once requested.
