How do I post a job?
To have your job listed on our Online Job Centre, email the posting in Word or PDF format to jobs@calgarycvo.org. New jobs are posted on Tuesday and Friday afternoons, and remain online for two weeks. Job postings can be extended if desired.
When are jobs posted?
Jobs are posted online on Tuesday and Friday afternoons. Jobs received by noon Tuesday will be posted Tuesday afternoon - with the same procedure for Fridays. You will receive an email when your job is online.
What are the posting fees?
CCVO's Online Job Centre is affordable. Jobs are posted for a two week period at the following rates:
- Members: All CCVO Members receive one free posting per calendar year and each additional posting is just $50. Postings can be extended for $25 per week. Visit our Memberhip Directory to see if your organization is a member.
- Non-Members: All job postings are $75. (Join CCVO today and take advantage of the members-only discounted posting rates!). Postings can be extended for $25 per week.
When will I be billed?
Organizations are sent an invoice shortly after their jobs are posted. Please make cheques payable to the Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations, or call (403) 261-6655 to pay by credit card.
Who can access CCVO’s Online Job Centre? How is it promoted?
CCVO’s Online Job Centre can be viewed by anyone on the Internet but is most popular with Calgarians interested in the voluntary/nonprofit sector. Jobs are promoted to 3,000 people every two weeks through our Email Bulletin - a free service that anyone can sign up for. As well, CCVO promotes the Online Job Centre through our newsletter, website and other marketing initiatives. CCVO’s promotions also reach those in government and the private sector who have an interest in nonprofit organizations and issues.
How do I write a job posting?
Here are a few suggestions for information to include:
- Header Information:
- At the top, list the organization name and the job title, level (junior, intermediate, senior), and duration (full-time, part-time, temporary, etc.)
- Body of the Ad:
- name and description of the organization
- what the job entails
- who the position reports to
- qualifications or years of experience required
- salary range (recommended)
- information about the application process, including deadline date and contact information for where to submit the application
Is there a limit on length?
CCVO does not place any limits on the length of your job posting. We recommend postings be one or two pages long.
What format should the posting be in?
Please send your job posting in Word or PDF format to jobs@calgarycvo.org. Please include your personal contact information for invoicing purposes, and a deadline date for applications.
