CCVO Submission to Charitable Casino Review Advisory Committee
The provincial government recently embarked on a review of Alberta’s charitable gaming model, including charity-run casinos. As part of this review, submissions and responses to three questions were requested by interested or concerned charitable organizations.
The Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations sent a response this afternoon to MLA Doug Griffiths, head of the MLA Advisory Committee, and all Members of the Legislative Assembly. CCVO believes the results of the review will potentially have a considerable impact on Calgary charities who derive income from casino events.
Recommendations from the committee are expected back to the government by March 31, 2010.
