The intersecting rings of our logo represent the network of the CCVO and its membership, and the links that unite us across common issues. Differing spheres of various sizes and colours represent the myriad voluntary sector organizations in Calgary connecting within and across sectors, with differing levels of government, all contributing their collective strength to a vibrant community.

Spotlight on HR Issues (September 2006)

Keynote Presentation-
Keynote speaker Bonnie Shiell, Research Manager with the HR Council for the Nonprofit/Voluntary Sector provided an overview of her organization's work to address HR issues in the sector, and current challenges including attracting and retaining staff in the sector. She also provided strategis planning tips organizations can use to help plan for their future labour and HR needs.

Keynote Presentation -
Keynote Speaker Judith Maxwell, Founding President, Canadian Policy Research Networks (CPRN) presented CPRN's report, Passion and Commitment Under Stress: Human Resource Issues in Canada's Non-profit Sector that examines HR factors that threaten the sustainability of voluntary organizations and suggests measures to relieve the pressure.
