  • Practice Makes Perfect: Looking Outside the Box (9 Sep 2009)

    This peer learning opportunity focuses on HR issues in nonprofit organizations. In partnership with Viable Calgary, we will explore how you can better understand and integrate an untapped labour resource into your workplaces.   • Community of Practice Event: May you Live in Interesting Times! (2 Dec 2009)

    With increased demand for services, looming cut backs to government funding, reductions in corporate and individual donations; this is a difficult time for nonprofit organizations. This event will explore how you can keep your staff motivated, engaged and retained during these uncertain times.

  • Innovative Practices from the Land Down Under (23 Oct 2009)

    Join us for a fascinating talk by Dr. Myles McGregor-Lowndes, Director of The Australian Centre for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies, who has been recognized for providing education and support in legal, financial and administrative matters to nonprofit organizations. Professor McGregor-Lowndes will provide an overview of current and emerging practice and thinking in the regulation of the voluntary sector in Australia, including the move to a Standard Chart of Accounts.     CCVO's Policy Series is back by popluar demand this fall with a focus on the Provincial Government. Join well known political analyst Paul McLoughlin and government relations specialist Hal Danchilla for a lively overview of the current landscape in Alberta politics.

    A limited number of students belonging to the University of Calgary's School of Public Policy Student Association have been granted a discounted rate to this event due to the financial support of a private foundation.
