Edmonton Journal Article Featuring CCVO Leadership Candidate Responses
The October 29 Edition of the Edmonton Journal’s Engage insert included an article focusing on the PC leadership candidate responses to three voluntary sector questions posed by CCVO. Visit CCVO online to see the article and read each candidate’s responses.
Call for Immigrants of Distinction Nominations- Deadline December 1
Individual nominations are accepted in the categories of Arts and Culture, Business, Community Service and Distinguished Professional. The IDA Diversity Award is open to all organizations, working to implement equality and diversity initiatives within their workplace. Scholarships are also awarded to immigrant youth, ages 14-24, who demonstrate excellence in academics, arts, sports, or community work. Arthur Kroeger Awards Call for Nominations Deadline December 15
The Arthur Kroeger College Awards for Public Affairs recognize excellence in several of the areas which contribute significantly to the vibrancy of Canadian democracy and society as a whole. CPRN Study: Getting Health Services to Canadians Living on the Margins
A new study by Canadian Policy Research Networks- Frontline Health Care in Canada: Innovations in Delivering Services to Vulnerable Populations reveals that a surprisingly high number of Canadians live beyond the reaches of mainstream health care and suffer a burden of illness greater than the rest of us. This study captures best practices and provides the foundation from which we can begin to improve the delivery of health care to Canadians living on the margins. Survey on Poverty & Income Security in Canada- Deadline to respond- mid December
The National Council of Welfare wants to know what you think about poverty in Canada. The Council is an independent body established to advise the federal government on social development and issues that matter to low-income Canadians. Nov 28-29- Regional Roundtable for Community Leaders
Volunteer Alberta and the Alberta Network for the Canada Volunteerism Initiative (CVI) are hosting a leadership opportunity for regional community leaders – staff, board chairs/members and volunteers – in Cochrane on November 28-29 to engage in solution-based initiatives with voluntary sector influencers in your region focusing on current issues and adapting to emerging trends.
