Budget 2009

The following message is sent on behalf of Katherine van Kooy, President and CEO, Calgary Chamber of Voluntary Organizations

provides an overview of current initiatives addressing workforce issues in Alberta.

On July 18, 2006 , Alberta's Minister of Community Development Denis Ducharme announced the ANVSI initiative.

The council includes nonprofit/voluntary sector leaders and Alberta government representatives and has developed a framework to guide and strengthen the relationship between the Government of Alberta and the province's nonprofit/voluntary sector.

The initiative is lead by a Leader's Council  that includes nonprofit/voluntary sector leaders and key government ministries. CCVO's CEO and President, Katherine van Kooy, is a founding member of the Council.
