Update - Proposed Accounting Standards for Non-Profits

Community nonprofit organizations had been raising concerns for quite some time about the growing administrative burden and point to such things as more numerous and complex grant application and reporting processes, and additional compliance requirements. The focus of this study was to address this gap in knowledge.

This issue of In Brief looks at Bill 1: The Lobbyist Act and the Federal Accountability Act and what their affect on the Canadian and Albertan voluntary sectors will be if they are passed into law in their current form (as of the end of July 2007).
