HR Council for the Voluntary & Nonprofit Sector (HR Council)

The HR Council's HR Management Standards are designed to support board members, managers and employees in the development and implementation of effective HR policies and practices for non-profit organizations.

The HR Council for the Nonprofit Sector (HR Council) commissioned a study of Labour Market Information (LMI) to improve the data available to nonprofits. This study of LMI for the nonprofit sector included work with an Advisory Committee, stakeholder consultations and a review of existing data on the sector. The consultations included discussions with data producers, intermediaries (e.g., umbrella organizations, resource centres), end users (e.g., nonprofit organizations, researchers, etc.) and LMI experts from other sectors and jurisdictions.

The final report in the series, Recommendations presents suggestions grounded in the current trends and developments in the sector.

This report provides demographic characteristics of the people who work in the sector, what they find satisfying and dissatisfying about their jobs, and their plans and expectations for the future.
